Barbara “Babalou” Salazar, 60, of Amarillo died Saturday, April 11, 2015.

Rosary will be said at 6:00 p.m., today at Schooler Funeral Home, Brentwood Chapel. Funeral Mass will be at 2:00 p.m., on Tuesday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Father Jose Gomez officiating. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 South Georgia.

Barbara was born on February 26, 1955 in Amarillo to Benito Lopez and Clara Salazar. She was raised in Amarillo and graduated from Caprock High School in 1974. She attended Amarillo College. Barbara worked for BSA for 30 years retiring in 2008. She married her loving husband Silvano Amador on November 22, 1998. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend; she was easily loved by everyone she met.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents Benito Lopez and Clara Salazar; grandparents Mateo and Refugia “Cuca” Lopez, and D. and Antonia Salazar.

She is survived by her husband of 17 years Silvano Amador; two sons Matthew Lopez and partner Tino, and Carlos “Andy” Salazar and fiancée Tabitha; four grandchildren Macario, Ariah, and Zairik Salazar, and Chloe Galicia-Lopez; five sisters Natalie Perez, Rebecca Cerda, Joyce Orneles, Fredrica Lopez, and Angelina Hibl; a God Sister Lucy Gonzales Calderon, all of Amarillo; and countless nieces nephews, cousins, and friends.

Barbara touched many hearts, she will always be missed and never forgotten.
