Turner, Kent Ira,

82, of Louisville, passed away peacefully from this earth on the evening of April 11, 2015 at Robley Rex VA Medical Center.

He was a native of Waterview, KY. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Sallie Turner; his wife Mary, his siblings, Ervin and Lana Turner.

He is survived by his sisters, Hazel Hack and Robbie Miller; special twin brother and care taker, Kenneth Turner and a special friend Ms. Brenda Enderle; along with several nieces and nephews.

He was the primary builder of Turner Expediting Service, along with his brothers Ervin and Kenneth, which became the largest trucking company domiciled in Kentucky. Among the larger accounts were Ford Motor Company, General Electric, IBM, TRANE and Square D. He was an avid golfer and a member of Big Springs Country Club. He loved to cook and serve dinner for friends. His fried chicken was known as the best around and he loved nature. He was a grower of roses and tomatoes and was a kind and gentle person. Kent had been a former member of the South End Church of Christ and had served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

A Life Celebration will be held on Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at 2 p.m. at the Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Chapel, 4400 Bardstown Road, with interment in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 1 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
