Life Legacy
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, April 13, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church for Rena Leleux Bertrand, 89, who died Friday, April 10, 2015 at 11:17 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette.
Fr. Gary Schexnayder, Pastor of St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church, will officiate for the services. The family requests visiting hours Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and Monday from 8:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. A rosary will be recited Sunday at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Bertrand was a native of Lyons Point and longtime resident of Crowley.
She and her late husband owned and operated Bert’s Paint and Body Shop in Crowley. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She immensely enjoyed family time, cooking, sewing and gardening.
Mrs. Bertrand is survived by two daughters, Kathy B. Comeaux of Youngsville, Karen B. Primeaux and her husband Mike of Crowley; one daughter-in-law, Hattie Darby Bertrand of New Iberia; four grandchildren, Chad Comeaux, Ryan Comeaux, Shawn Primeaux and Brett Primeaux; ten great-grandchildren, Isabella, Emma, Annabeth and Madelyn Comeaux, Savannah and Sydnie Comeaux, Aaidin, Caitlyn and Collin Primeaux, Phoenix Langlinais.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Nefor “Bert” Bertrand; her son, Charles Kenneth Bertrand; grandson, Aaron Kyle Comeaux her parents, Clomere and Aspasie Trahan Leleux; one sister, Nedia Bell; three brothers, Wilfred, Vernis and Dolze Leleux.
Pallbearers will be Mike Primeaux, Shawn Primeaux, Brett Primeaux, Chad Comeaux, Ryan Comeaux and Paul Faulk. Honorary pallbearers will be Aaron Comeaux and Louby Faulk.
