Leroy was a retired used car dealer, World War II Navy veteran, and a member of Grenada Exchange Club for forty-five years. He served eighteen years as a Sunday school teacher at First United Methodist Church in Grenada, MS.
Funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM Wednesday, February 11, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Garner Harper Chapel in Grenada with a visitation from 12-2 PM. Interment is at Woodlawn Cemetery in Grenada.
Leroy was preceded in death by first wife Olivia P. Turner, parents Issac and Marie Turner, brother Jesse Lloyd Turner, and sister Mary Hill.
Survivors include wife Glenda Turner of Tupelo, MS, daughter Renee Taylor of Memphis, TN, step daughter Patty Johnson of Tupelo, MS, and step son Ray Bramlett of Madison, MS. Siblings Martha Hanson of Pelahatchie , MS, Betty Trotter of Anderson, SC, and Issac Turner of Wesson, MS. Granddaughters Alicia Miller (Mike) and Shannon Shackelford, both of Memphis, TN, step grandchildren Allison Johnson Dye (Chris) of Hernando, MS, and Claire Johnson of Los Angeles, CA. Leroy has five great grandchildren, Tyler Shackelford and Daylen Shackelford, both of Olive Branch, MS, Hannah Kennedy and Josie Kennedy, both of Hernando, MS and Khloe Baltz of Memphis, TN.
