Mrs. Rose James Ward, 73, of 1147 N.C. 177 N., Hamlet, North Carolina, died Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at her residence.
She was born in Anson County on July 10, 1941, daughter of John Henry James and Mary Marsh James.
Mrs. Ward was a homemaker and a member of God's Church of Vision in Hamlet.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Wanda Ladd; sister, Barbara James; brother, Bo James; and a grandson, Travis Ladd.
Survivors include her husband, Guaran Ward of the home; daughters, Vickie Cooker of Rockingham, Airele Ward of Hamlet and Angineek Gillenwater of Hamlet; sons, Allen Ladd of Little Washington, Ralph Ladd of Charlotte and Rickie Ladd of Rockingham; brother, Frank James of Rockingham; sister, June Goldston of Rockingham; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Harrington Funeral Home.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Harrington Funeral Home with the Rev. Thad Pearson Sr. officiating. Burial will follow at Richmond Memorial Park.
