OBITUARY
John Newton Goss, Sr. was born April 30, 1905 in Asher, Indian Territory, Oklahoma, the son of James Frederick and LeeRoy Beaty Goss.
He grew up in the Asher, Oklahoma area and attended Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee, Oklahooma. On August 3, 1928 in Edmond, Oklahoma he was united marriage to Minnie Maude McCaulley.
John worked for many years building oil rigs for the oil fields.
John became a Baptist Minister serving many different churches. His first church was in Asher, later on he served in this area in Balko, OK, Texhoma, OK and Liberal, Kansas and for 28 years he served in the Rolls, Texas area retiring as Pastor on his 90th birthday in Estacado, TX. In 1998 they moved to Adams and in September of 1998 became residents of the Senior Village in Perryton, TX.
John loved to garden and raise chickens.
He is precedded in death by his parents, a daughter, Ethel Marie Beckham, a granddaugher, Rhonda Beckham and 8 brothers.
Funeral services shall be at 10 am April 17, 1999 at the Adams Baptist Church in Adams, OK.
