BLOOM – Sam Scott, 94, died April 11, 2015, at Minneola Long Term Care Unit, Minneola. He was born Aug. 17, 1920, in Dodge City, the son of Earl Thomas and Annie E. Albright Scott. A lifetime Clark County resident, he was a farmer. He was a World War II veteran serving in the U.S. Navy.
On Aug. 12, 1946, he married Ruth Elisa Riecker in Minneola. She died October 25, 2003. Survivors include: a daughter, Ann Schlichting, Minneola; a granddaughter, Ruth Ann Knox; and two great-grandchildren, Brayden and Charlotte, all of Bloom.
Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday April 14, 2014, in Bucklin Cemetery, Bucklin, with the Rev. Kip Ryherd presiding. The family will greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday April 13, 2015, at Minnis Mortuary, Minneola. Memorials may be sent to the Minneola Long Term Care Unit, in care of Minnis Mortuary, Minneola.
