Darlene Aloise Davis was born August 25, 1922 in Sioux City the daughter of Everett and Marge B. (McManigal) Davis. She graduated from high school. She married William H. “Heine” Clausen on November 17, 1946 in Sioux City. They moved to Detroit, Michigan and lived there from 1946 until 1953. Returning to South Sioux City the couple began Clausen Electric and owned and operated the business from 1954 until 1994.

Darlene was a member of the First Lutheran Church, taught Sunday School and was a member of the First Circle #3. She was a volunteer for six years at the Lewis and Clark School, was a charter member and first president of the South Sioux City ABWA, was a member and past president of the Eastern Star Laura Chapter #301, past queen Hathor Temple #11 Daughters of the Nile, Hathor Temple Pagentry, member of Senior Soos and was a six year volunteer for Meals On Wheels. She taught knitting, crocheting, needle point and loved to dance.

Survivors include a son Steve and his wife Roxane Clausen of South Sioux City, a daughter Kathy and her husband Marv Muirhead of South Sioux City, a sister Diane and her husband Wayne Boyd of South Sioux City, seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and a sister-in-law Ann Davis.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband William “Heine” October 1, 1994, a son Bill B.J. Clausen and a brother Everett Davis, JR.

Pallbearers will be Chris, Chad and Casey Clausen, Jeremiah Johnson, Eddie Hernandez, Chris Tworek and Mike Swenson.

She loved and had great pride in her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
