Bill is survived by his loving wife; Cecelia (Monik) Dillard, children William Dillard Jr. (Dj Jones) of Portage, Jason Dillard, fiancée ( Melissa Nicholson) of Valparaiso, Tiffany Godsey (Matt) of Avon, IN; siblings James Dillard of Florida, Anna Dillard of Valparaiso, David Dillard ( Leilani ) of Tennessee.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brother Gary.
Bill was born on December 24th 1947 in East Chicago, IN to George and Sarah Dillard. He graduated from River Forest in 1967.
He married Cecelia, his sweetheart “forever and ever” in 1970. After moving to Portage, Bill began working for Bethlehem Steel ( ArcelorMittal) as an electrical Millwright until he retired in 2014. Bill and Cecelia welcomed 3 children into their home, seven grandchildren, Jacqueline, Bobby, Caleb, Gabrielle, Isabelle, Colin and Ryan and 6 great grandchildren.
His children remember him as a kind, gentle, patient, driven father who encouraged them to pursue their dreams.
Bill was a generous and dedicated individual who loved driving his corvette on warm sunny days and who was passionate about his family. He loved getting together with his friends and taking his corvette to gathering spots and going to car shows.
