Clara Cowden was born at Gustavus, Ohio on Sept. 17th, 1834 and was united in marriage to Mr. Nelson Sawyer, Oct. 21st, 1855, the young couple locating in this city where, with the exception of a few winters spent in Boston and Minneapolis, she has since made her home. Mr. Sawyer passed away in 1889.
Relatives from away who came to attend the funeral were: Edwin L. Sawyer of Osage, Iowa, Mrs. Myron W. Sawyer of Marshall, Wis., Mrs. Etta Strong of Fort Atkinson, Wis. And Albert L. Sawyer of Chicago, Ill.
