Biography

Kathy Ford, 56, of Lake Wales, Florida passed away on March 23, 2013. She was born February 25, 1957 in Jacksonville, Florida to the late William & Mary Clements. She was a daughter, sister, wife, and mother. Kathy loved to paint, spend time with her children, tend to her prayer garden and flowers and was an avid reader. She showed her family love in the kitchen, where she created masterpieces of culinary delight.

She laughed the most when she was around her sisters. Her heart belonged to her grand-children by choice: Taylor, Mac, and Lily whom she affectionately dubbed “Kat’s Brats”. She was a sweet soul that loved her family whole-heartedly.

She is survived by her husband, Tim Ford of Lake Wales and her sisters Linda Ford of Bryceville, Imagene Hurst of Bryceville, Donna King of Waycross, Georgia and brother, William T. Clements of Lake Wales. Her legacy will live on in her children; Elizabeth Ford, Tim T. Ford, Kristin Ford, and Thomas J. Ford as well as in her beloved “Kat’s Brats”; Taylor Ford, Mac McIntyre, and Lily Davis.

Also left to mourn her passing are her mother and father-in-law, Lynda and Tommy Ford of Winter Haven, and four sisters-in-law and their
families, Tammy Willis of Auburndale, Marci McIntyre of Lake Wales, Mary Ann Owens of Haines City, and Marcia Howell of Jacksonville and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister
Geraldine “Sissy” Trawick of Jacksonville.

All who knew Kathy will miss her warm heart, pleasant nature, and a loving spirit with a soft spot for children. Arrangements were entrusted to Prestwood Funeral Home in Baldwin, Florida. Private family services were held on Thursday, March 28, 2013 in Baldwin and internment was at Verdie Cemetery in Bryceville, Florida. Pallbearers included Jonathan Burns, Matthew Arnold, Tony Wise, Calvin Williams, Thomas Ford, Dan Cahill, Frank Parker, and Mike Stokes.
