Roger Wayne Merritt, 61, St. Joseph, Missouri passed away Thursday, April 9, 2015 at his home. He lost a courageous battle with cancer. Roger was a great friend and family member to the Moyer family. He will be missed by all. He was a devoted member of Alcoholics Anonymous for many years.

Roger was born March 5, 1954 in St. Joseph, Missouri. He graduated in 1972 from Central High School. He attended Hillyards Technical School and received his electronic training that would later enable him to operate his own business.

Roger worked for Anderson Typewriter Company. When the company went out of business, Roger started his own company in 1978. Roger’s dream was to run a honest, caring business with good devoted employees and always be fair to all. He certainly accomplished this dream. Roger sold his business in 2011 to Detamax out of Lenexa, Kansas. They kept him as a faithful employee. His past customers and past employees will miss him deeply. He purchased his business building in 1980 and his home (next door) in 1984. Roger was a hardworking man and everyone was glad to know him.
