ABINGDON, Va. Gregg Alan "Bob" Alexander, age 33, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 7, 2015, after a courageous battle with cancer. Gregg was born in Washington County, Va., on May 4, 1981, and lived his entire life in the Hidden Valley community. He will be remembered for his love of four wheeling, riding motorcycles, hunting and fishing. "Bob" was an excellent mechanic especially of motorcycles, he could often be found outside working on cars and trucks alongside his dad. He was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Denton Kestner; paternal grandparents, Ballard and Kathleen Alexander; and his great-grandmother, Hettie Gobble. Survivors include his parents, Dale and Joyce Kestner Alexander of Abingdon; maternal grandmother, Ruth Kestner of Abingdon; and his girlfriend, Mary Spicer of Abingdon. He is also survived by a special niece, Makayla Nunley; two special nephews, Aiden Fleenor and Landon Damron; a special aunt, Lisa Kestner and fiance Jimmy Armes; aunts, Betty Buttry, Sue Alexander, Mary Ellen Cassidy, Patty Alexander and Shirley Alexander; uncles, Wayne Alexander and wife Tammy, and John Alexander; special cousins, Jessica and Harold Fleenor; several other extended family and many dear friends. The family would like to thank all those who offered their support and prayers to Gregg and the family during his illness. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at 1 p.m., in the Frost Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Michael Alexander officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the time of service. At other times friends may visit at the family home. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Martin, Gene Martin, Wayne Alexander and John Alexander.
