Hazel Marie Oliver Honeycutt, 92, of Marlin, passed away on January 25, 2015. Burial was in Hillcrest Cemetery in Marlin beside her husband.
Hazel Marie was born in Groesbeck, Texas, to the late Andy J. and Belle Smiley Oliver. When she was a young girl, she became a Christian. Hazel graduated from Groesbeck High School and on December 25, 1939, she became the wife of T. J. Honeycutt. Hazel worked as a secretary in several places, and retired from the Texas Department of Correction, Classification Division, in Huntsville.
Hazel has been to all but three states in the United States of America. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Huntsville. Hazel went on gospel singing cruises, twice to Alaska and three times to Hawaii.
She was preceded in death by her husband, T.J. in January, 2008; daughter, Lana Jo in July, 2004; sisters, Frances Kemp in 1984 and Dorothy Pacini in 2010; and a niece, Rena Cheryl Vitale in 2008.
Survivors include several nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends and neighbors.
