OBITUARY - C. E. McClelland's Services Are Held - Funeral services for Charles Edward McClelland, prominent pioneer of Upshur County and a former resident of Longview, were conducted Saturday at 4 p.m. in the chapel of the Lloyd James Funeral Home, Tyler, by Dr. William F. Shamburger. Interment was in Rose Hill Cemetery of Tyler.

McClelland, 91, died Thursday at his home on the Henderson Highway, Tyler. He was one of the oldest Smith County veterans of the Spanish American War. He had lived in Smith County for the past 24 years, after retiring as land man for several oil companies.

McClelland is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Fannie Mae Turner and Miss Bebe McClelland, Longview; one son, Rogers McClelland, New York City, N.Y ; his wife, Mrs. Lillie [sic] McClelland, Tyler; two sisters, Mrs. T. T. Herris and Mrs. Grace Fowler, both of Mineral Wells; a brother, B. C. McClelland, Cleveland, Texas; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
