Warren L. Ellis, 93, resident of The Forum at Knightsbridge in Columbus, formerly of Lancaster, passed away November 22, 2013.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of W.W. II, former POW Dec 31 1943. He flew a B-17 4229895/BLACK SWAN, and former member of First Presbyterian Church, Lancaster. Warren was a Mechanical Engineer graduate of Purdue University and retired from Anchor Hocking.

Survived by his children, Cathy (Dave) Speer, Linda (Tom) Kaliker, Ron Ellis; grandchildren, Andrew (Sharon) Sykes, Amy (Josh) Knauss, Beth (Jay) McAllister, Michael (Joanna); great-grandchildren, Kylee and Tyler Knauss, Mack and Cooper Sykes; a sister, Anna Lucille Weaver, nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his wife of 66 years,, Joan G. Ellis on June 4, 2012.

Visitation will be 10 - 11 a.m. at the Halteman-Fett & Dyer Funeral Home, followed by a memorial service officiated by Dr. Rich G. Riedel. The Lancaster Veterans Burial Detail will conduct military rites at the funeral home following the funeral service.

Interment will be at the convenience of the family at a later date in Floral Hills.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Lancaster Veteran's Association or the Kobacker House in Columbus.
