Jack L. Clemens, 88, longtime resident of Hibbing, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on Aug. 16, 1922, to Albert and Edith (Parker) Clemens in Clarissa, Minn.

He entered the Sacrament of Marriage with Mildred Coss on May 19, 1941.

He later served his country during World War II with the U.S. Army where he fought in the jungles of Burma and India from 1943 until the fall of 1945.

After the war, Jack was employed with Island Farm Creamery as a milkman, retiring after 33 years of service. He was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Hibbing, the local Teamsters Union, and he was an assistant coach for the Golden Gloves for many years.

He was also a member of the Balkan Saddle Club. Jack enjoyed hunting and fishing, or just spending time at his shack.

Jack is survived by his wife, Millie; son, Pat Clemens; daughters: Kathleen (John) Chuk, Bette Jo (Russ) Cox, Pam "Rabbit" (Dennis) Elj, and Trish (Steve) Raukar; sisters: Nellie MacDonald, Mable Johnson, and Gay (Wayne) Schaar; grandchildren: Patrick "Duffy" Clemens, Marcia (James) Warren, Nicole (Adam) Osborne, Tiffany Elj, Jamie (Brian) Elj Nordin, Casey (Mike) Douville, Peter (Nicole) Raukar and Heather Clemens; and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Edith Clemens; and brothers: Albert and Tom Clemens.

Interment at the Maple Hill Cemetery in Hibbing.
