James Calvin Blankenship was born February 23rd, 1858. Departed this life March 14th, 1903 of pneumonia and thyphoid fever. He was a trustee and charter member of the church at Convernience, Arkansas. He was a Methodist Protestant by choice. He sang "How Firm a Foundation", "The Life Boat; and "Jesus Lovery of My Soul" a few days before he died. He said to one of his daughters just before he died, "Don't leave me for I will soon be gone." And she asked, "Where are you going Pop?" He said, "I am going home, you will all soon see me start. I will soon be done with the sufferings of this world. I am going home to rest." So, the Church in extending it's sympathy, offers this consolation to the bereaved family, that he died with a hope. By order of the church at Convience, Arkansas. Committe: Christopher C. Gray, W.P. Ford, Thomas J. Holcombe
