Neill Parker, 73, of 708 N. 5th St., Herrin, died at 12:45 pm Wednesday in Doctors Hospital, Carbondale, after a long illness.
Mr. Parker was born June 1, 1895 in Cairo, the son of Dyas and Lula Benson Parker. He married Leota McDonald in 1937 in Kansas City, Mo. He was a switchman for the Chicago, Burlington and Quincy Railroad.
He leaves his wife; a sister, Mrs. Daisy Marshall of Cairo; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 2 pm Friday at the George Van Natta Funeral Home, Herrin. The Rev. Robert Walther will officiate. Burial will be in Herrin City Cemetery.
