Decatur-Carolyn Lois Denton, 82, of Decatur, passed away Sunday, April 5, 2015 at Fair Havens Christian Home in Decatur.
Carolyn was born October 4, 1932 in Vienna, West Virginia the daughter of Lloyd E. and Leona R. (Moore) Schofield. She was previously employed as a secretary with the FBI in Washington D.C. and retired from the United Way of Decatur as campaign secretary. She was a member of Trinity Nazarene Church. She married Max E. Denton on December 5, 1953. He passed away on November 12, 1987.
Carolyn leaves behind her sons Jeffrey Denton and wife Janet and Douglas Denton, grandchildren Ryan Jenkins and wife Jamie, Robert Denton and wife Miriam, Nikki Denton, and Andrew Griffith and wife Lieghann, and brother Lloyd E. Schofield Jr. and wife Ruby.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sister Regina Kuhn.
Services to celebrate Carolyn’s life will be 10 a.m. Friday, April 10, 2015 at Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, April 9, 2015 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at 12 p.m. Friday in Camp Butler National Cemetery.
