Katherine Darline Driver departed this world on May 31, 2006. She was born to Vera Sylvia (Nicholson) and Peter Hansen at 9 p.m. on October 14, 1922, in Davenport, Neb. Aside from living for a short time in Somerset, Pa., and Cabool, Mo., Katherine grew up in Mountain Grove, Mo. She graduated from Mountain Grove High School in 1940. Katherine met the love of her life in Mountain Grove as well. She married Floyd Delmar Driver Jr. on April 7, 1947. They shared 22 years together. Each one of those years was full of love and laughter, and to hear "her Floyd" tell it, "It wasn't long enough". Katherine and Floyd shared in raising their two children, Vernon Driver Sr. and Sharon (Driver) Paschall. Katherine lived on Central Street for 53 years and her home served as a home for many of her family members. Katherine was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Bonnie June and Wanda Florine, and her beloved Floyd. She is survived by her two children; four grandchildren, Vernon Driver Jr., Marne Driver, Ronnie Brock, and Jeffrey Walker; seven greatgrandchildren; her brothers, Alvin Edward Hansen, Dr. Norman Floyd Hansen, and Gerald LeRoy Hansen; a sister, Artha Evangeline (Hansen) Crane; many beloved nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family members. She is the heart of our family. Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, June 4 in Walnut Lawn Funeral Home, 2001 W. Walnut Lawn Street. Funeral services are 1 p.m. Monday, June 5 in the funeral home chapel, with burial in White Chapel Memorial Gardens Cemetery, with pastor Gloria Jones officiating. There will be a visitation for family and friends at Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church, 1001 N. National 65802, with food and refreshments directly following the funeral service.
