Karen S. McCormick, 55, of DeLand passed away April 5, 2015 at her residence. She was born in Orlando on April 7, 1959 and was a homemaker.
Karen was a member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Haines City and loved to spend time with her granddaughter. Karen enjoyed doing crafts and was very active in the FFA.
She was predeceased by her father, Daniel Stateler.
Survivors include her husband of 35 years, Dan; mother Evia Loye Stateler of Loughman, FL; daughter, Danielle McCormick of Orange City, FL; brothers Daniel Allen Stateler of Hoskins, NE and Terry Wilson of Winter Haven, FL; sisters Katherine Skrobiak of Orlando, FL, Kellisa Morgan of Davenport, FL, Kamie Scarbough of Loughman, FL and Kristen Houser of Winter Haven, FL.; granddaughter Payton McCormick.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 8th from 6-8pm at Allen-Summerhill Funeral Home DeLand. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 9th at 11am at the Allen-Summerhill Memorial Chapel in DeLand with Father Hugh McGlashon officiating. Burial will follow at DeLand Memorial Gardens.
