He married Mable Lucile Adams 1 week later on June 12, 1917. The 1920 census shows him and Mable, plus daughter Geraldine E, back in SLC with his parents. 1930 census they are in Highland, Washington.
The 1940 census puts him across the Snake River in Lewiston, Idaho, with 2nd wife Katheryn Shepler Gill and son Richard David, 2 years old. David was a member of the Lewiston Fire Department for 38 years, retiring in 1959 He passed May 25, 1963 in Lewiston.
