Barbara Martz was born to Peter Martz and Christina Myers in Posey Township, Fayette, Indiana. She married Edmund Rogerson on June 19, 1859 in Posey Township. By 1860 they had moved to Dudley in Henry County. They had five children, Jennie Belle, Henrietta J, Delphina, Eliza, and Francis. Barbara died at the age of 34 leaving her children to be taken in by various family members.
