Bobby Gibbs, age 82 of Golconda, IL passed away April 4, 2015 at home surrounded by his family.
He was born April 9, 1932 in Pope County, Illinois to Dan and Edna (Cruson) Gibbs. He married Ruby Raines on April 17, 1953; she preceded him on July 12, 2011. He was a U.S. ARMY veteran and served in the Korean Conflict. Bobby was retired from Ozark Mahoning in Rosiclare, IL.
He is survived by son, Timothy and wife Patricia Gibbs of rural Golconda; daughter, Lisa Duncan of Golconda, IL; four grandchildren, Amy and husband David Conkle, Jeremy Gibbs, Nathaniel Duncan, Trent and wife Jessica Duncan; two step grandchildren, Adam Kommer, Samantha Kommer; four great grandchildren and five step great grandchildren; brother, Bennie and wife Nina Gibbs of Golconda, IL; sister, Donna K. Hill of Phoenix, AZ.
Visitation will be Monday, April 6, 2015 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Aly Funeral Home in Eddyville, IL. Funeral service will be Tuesday April 7, 2015 at 11:00 am Dutton Chapel General Baptist Church, Golconda, IL. Rev. Bernie Cowgill will conduct the service. Burial will follow at Old Grandpier Cemetery.
