Funeral services for Mrs. Thea Peterson were held Feb. 6, 1963 from the First Lutheran church. The Rev. Philip Westby officiated. Casket bearers were Reuben Allen, Donald Haugen, Lloyd Pehan, albert Toft, Alvin Toft and Edwin Toft. Interment was in the Kinkead Cemetery.
Thea Peterson was born in Ida township Feb. 10, 1871, the daughter of Lars and Anna Haugen. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith, a member of the First Lutheran church of Alexandria. She attended public school in Ida township and was married to Ole Peterson on Dec. 13, 1888, in Alexandria.
Mrs. Peterson passed away, Feb. 4 at the age of 91 years, 11 months and 24 days. Surviving are 4 daughters: Mrs. Selma Hasbrouck of Phoenix, Ariz.; (Alma) Mrs. J. C. Christenson of Minneapolis; (Aberdeen) Mrs. Harland Safford of Hillsboro, N.D.; (Irene) Mrs. Frank Pouchnik of Minneapolis; 3 sons, Thaulo of Garfield; William and Wallace both of Alexandria; 3 sisters, Mrs. Celia Keatings of Victoria, British Columbia; Mrs. Ella Hanks of Glendale, Calif.; Mrs. Matilda Pehan of Glenwood; one brother, Paul Hagen of Glendale, Calif.; 19 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
