Frank enlisted in the 47th Supply Co. A,16th Division, Field Artillery, September 3, 1918. He was stationed at Camp Kearny, California, and while there was stricken with pneumonia following the "flu". He died after fourteen days' illness, on November 16, 1918. His remains were accompanied home by his boyhood friend. He was the first soldier to be buried in the Huntsville, Utah Cemetery.
