Rena Freida Andrews, of Westminster, entered into God's Heavenly Kingdom May 29 in Taneytown.

She was born in Uniontown, MD, the daughter of the late Hubert Tom and Juanita Frances Clark McDaniel.

Mrs. Andrews had worked at Griefs Sewing Factory, the shoe factory, and was an aide at Carroll Lutheran Village. She volunteered at Second Chance and loved making quilts which were donated to the Fraternal Order of the Eagles. Many of her handmade items were donated throughout the community.

She was a close companion of Olen E. Schmidt, who departed this life in 2001, and is survived by daughter, Sally Andrews; sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas Lee and Terry Kilgalen Andrews of Westminster, John "Jerry" Fitzgerald and Cindy Andrews of Hollidaysburg, PA, and James Otis "Jimmy" and Maria Andrews of Westminster; daughters and sons-in-law, Bertha "Sissy" Ann and Robert Leppo of Westminster, and Frances Kay and Thomas Strawsburg of Gettysburg; stepson, Leonard Dwight Andrews of Havre De Grace, MD; brothers and sisters, Herman Fred Thompson of Westminster, Mary "Kitty" Gouge of Waynesboro, H. Tom Thompson of Westminster, Marion J. McDaniel of Biglerville, PA, Cleveland R. Thompson of Essex, MD, Wonder Eve Fields of Hanover, Rudolph J. McDaniel of Parsons, WV, and Doug W. McDaniel of Roanoke, VA; and grandchildren, Robert and James Andrews, Chris Feenstra, Ashley Katzen, Larry Andrews, Danny Houck, James R.L. Andrews, Charles and Corey Leppo, John Andrews, Jr., Bev Rena Andrews, Stacie J. Andrews, Kevin E. Strawsburg, Rosemary Andrews, James Andrews, Jr., Eric Andrews, and Thomas Andrews; daughter-in-law, Georgette Andrews; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her son, Leonard Dale "Rassy" Andrews, Jr., who departed this life in 2005; and brothers and sisters, Albert McDaniel, Martha Parks, Regina Thompson, Nora Condon, Virginia P. Edwards, and Hubert T. McDaniel, Jr.

Interment was in Romney, WV.
