STATESBORO, Ga. -- Ms. Julia Harrison, age 66, made her transition on Monday evening at East Georgia Regional Medical Center after an extended illness. She was a native of Bulloch County and a dedicated, faithful member of Hodges Grove Baptist Church. She was a domestic engineer.

She is survived by one son, Stevie Harrison, Petersburg, Fla.; one daughter, Beatrice Harrison, Statesboro; four sisters, Mildred (George) Shipman, Statesboro; Katie Mae Harrison, Lithonia, Ga.; Sylvia Harrison, Reidsville, Ga.; and Annie Lee (James) Mikell, Metter, Ga.; five brothers, Bob Aaron Harrison and Cleveland Gerald Harrison, both of Twin City, Ga.; Larry Floyd (Brenda) Harrison and Tony Edward Harrison, both of Portal, Ga.; and Bloyce Lyvonne (Lisa) Harrison, Statesboro; and adopted sister/friend, Gladys Love, Statesboro; six grandchildren, Julian Dametrice Harrison and JaColby Lee Ward, both of Statesboro; Stevie Harrison Jr., St. Petersburg, Fla.;Kamron Allen Harrison, Cheleste Harrison and Selina Harrison, all of Wisconsin; and a host of other relatives and friends.

The funeral service for Ms. Harrison will be held on Monday, April 6, 2015, at 11 a.m. at the Hodges Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. John Harmon, pastor/eulogist, and Bishop Virgil Badie, presiding. Burial will be in Scarboro Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Portal, Ga. Ms. Harrison will lie in state on Monday morning, April 6, 2015, from 10 a.m. until the funeral hour. There will be no viewing after the eulogy. Public viewing will be Sunday, April 5, 2015, from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
