Mr. W.L. Simons, Sr., age 73, of Tarrytown died Sunday, April 5, 2015.

Mr. Simons was born in Treutlen County and lived in Dublin for twenty eight years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Susie Curl Simons, his wife, Grady Mae Walker Simons, grandchildren, Susie McCullars and Bill Simons; three brothers and one sister. He was a self-employed contractor and a member of Tarrytown Baptist Church.

Survivors include his children, William Larkin Simons, Jr., (Velvet), and Michelle McCullars, all of Tarrytown; grandchildren, Dustin Simons, Jacksonville, FL, and Crystal (Jammie) Livingston, Dublin; sister, Christine Johnson, Soperton; brother, Truman Simons, Fayetteville; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held in the Chapel of Sammons Funeral Home at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 8, with the Reverends Chuck Morgan and Donny Brown officiating. Burial will be in Tarrytown Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dustin Simons, Jammie Livingston, Wes Parrish, Gary Coleman, Troy Simons, and Eddie Johnson.

The honorary escort will include Tommy Youmans, George Claxton, Bobby Allen, Jerry Fordham, Roy Paul, David Childers, and members of the Senior Adult Sunday School Class of Tarrytown Baptist Church: Rhonda Pullen, Mark Burns, Barbara Burns, Russell Burns, Lynette Coleman, Johnnie Mae Moxley, and Gilbert Calhoun. A visitation will be held at the funeral home Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. Due to family allergies, please refrain from wearing perfume or cologne to visitation and funeral.
