Ralph Bryant, 84, of Columbus, died at 4:50 p.m. Sunday, April 5, 2015, at Our Hospice of South central Indiana Inpatient Facility. Ralph was born September 20, 1930, the son of Charlie and Sister Burton Bryant. He married Gloria Jean "Jeanie" Hayden September 11, 1948 in Jamestown, Kentucky. She preceded him in death august 25, 2011.
He worked for Columbus City Garage 21 years, retiring in 1998. Prior to that he worked for Buchanan and Son Furniture Store for 25 years. He attended the Who So Ever Will Church in Edinburgh. He loved to do yard work and was an avid NASCAR fan.
Survivors include sons, Jerry (Billie) Bryant of Westport, Ralph Wayne (Carolyn) Bryant of Medora, Michael (Billie) Bryant of Columbus, David (Tammy) Bryant of North Vernon and Jack (Sue) Bryant of Columbus; a daughter, Regina Kay (Phillip) Baucom of Dixon, Tennessee; brothers, Johnny Bryant, Tommy (Shirley) Bryant and Charlie (Vanessa) Bryant, all of Columbus; sisters, Louise Baldwin and Helen Zebell of Columbus and Shirley Kay Bryant of Reno, Nevada; 20 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded by parents; his wife; an infant daughter, Brenda Gail Bryant; a grandson, Kevin Bryant; a brother, Willie Bryant; and a sister, Phyllis Anderson.
Funeral service will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Myers-Reed Chapel on 25th Street with the Rev. Lewis Burton officiating. Calling will be from 12:30 p.m. until service time Wednesday. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
