PRINCETON - Ruby Hopkins Cowan Fielder, 84, of 1304 Princeton Ave., Princeton, died Tuesday, Nov. 24, 1998, at her daughter’s residence in Elberton. Born May 2, 1914, in Lerona, she was the daughter of the late A.A. and Sadie Caldwell Hopkins Sr. She was a retired teller for the Princeton Bank and Trust Company, she was a member of the Kee Street United Methodist Church in Princeton and a member of the Weatherford Fellowship, Ever Ready Sunday school class and served as a volunteer at Mark’s Place. She was a member of the Princeton Civic League.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter W. Fielder; one sister and three brothers. Survivors include one daughter, Kaye Cowan Johnson and husband, Richard, of Elberton; two grandchildren, Lee Johnson and wife, Windy, of Elberton and Erie Johnson of Tampa, Fla.; and one brother, A.A. "Lon" Hopkins and wife, Bonnie, of Bluefield.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at George W. Seaver Funeral Home Chapel of Princeton with the Rev. David Jasper officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton. Friends may call at the funeral home from noon until the service hour on Saturday.
