Linda Sue Akins, 58, of Virginia Beach, VA died Friday, October 24, 2014 at Sentara Leigh Memorial Hospital. Born in Jacksonville, FL, she was the daughter of the late John Robert and Edith Schade Akins.

Ms. Akins is survived by her son, Robert Karl Akins of Virginia Beach, VA; a daughter, Kyann Akins of North Carolina; three sisters, Sandi Dowdy and husband Gary, Jr. of Frisco, NC, Karen Hobbs and husband Billy of Chesapeake, VA and Janet Ferguson and husband Ron of Virginia Beach, VA; two brothers, Robert Akins and wife Stephanie of Alabama and Johnny Akins of Virginia Beach, VA; several nephews and nieces; and special friends, Harvey, Robin and Roberta. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Ray Akins.

A private memorial service will take place at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the Linda Akins Memorial Fund at any Suntrust Branch. Twiford Funeral Home, Memorial Chapel, 405 E.
