A native of Tyler, Texas, he was born Feb. 11, 1930, the son of the late Herman Launn Wooten Sr. and Hazel Price Wooten.
He was a retired Korean War and Vietnam War Army veteran and was retired as an instructor at the Christian County Educational School of Hopkinsville. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Survivors include his wife, Violet Pryor Wooten; two daughters, Mrs. Patrick (Lisa) Manning, Irving, Texas, Karen Wooten, the county; two brothers, Bill Wooten, Santa Fe, Texas, John Wooten, Houston, Texas; and three sisters, Martha Nell Sieler, Pearland, Texas, Bettye Jo Huddleston and Bobbie Lee Huddleston, both of Houston.
