Services for Nellie Kathleen Boyd Goodwin, 90, Early Drive, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home, Hopkinsville, with the Rev. Bencie Rasnake officiating. Burial will be in Green Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. She died at 5:10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2005, at Jennie Stuart Medical Center of natural causes. A native of Christian County, she was born Oct. 17, 1915, the daughter of the late Sherman and Margaret Simpson Boyd. She had retired following more than 40 years’ service as a supervisor at Hopkinsville Clothing Co. She was a member of Kelly Baptist Church. Her husband, Edward Goodwin, died in 1960. An infant daughter also preceded her in death. Survivors include two nephews she reared in her home, Richard Boyd, Hopkinsville, with whom she had made her home for many years, and Dennis Boyd, Nashville, Tenn., and a brother, Howard Boyd, Hopkinsville.
