Marvin A. Backues, of Stockton, CA, age 75, passed away on July 2, 2008. He was born on November 18, 1932 in Freeburg, Missouri, where he was raised and educated. In 1950 he moved to Los Angeles, CA for a brief time, and then moved to Stockton. He was employed as a sheet metal worker for over 30 years, and retired from Pacific Plumbing & Heating in Stockton in 1988. In 1964 he was married to Joyce Creamer in Lake Tahoe. He enjoyed fishing and deer hunting.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Joyce Backues of Stockton; 3 daughters, Cathy (John) Stagg of Stockton, Peggy (Joe) Canepa of Clements, and Penny (Kevin) Basso of Stockton; also 9 grandchildren, Rick and Ashley Stagg, Corinne, Allison, Emily, and Chris Canepa, Mackenzie, Taylor, and Lauren Basso.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, July 9, 2008, at 10:00 a.m. in the Evergreen Chapel at Cherokee Memorial Park, Hwy 99 & Harney Lane, Lodi, with committal following.

Memorial Contributions may be made in Marvin's memory to St. Joachim's Catholic Church, P.O. Box 232, Lockeford, CA 95237.
