Michael Ray Lipscomb, 68, of Hot Springs Village died on Friday, April 3, 2015 at the Arkansas Heart Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas. He was born in Jackson, Tennessee, only son of the late Raymond C. Lipscomb and Lila F. Lipscomb of Henderson, Tennessee.

In 1968 he earned a B.A. degree from Vanderbilt University, later entering Memphis State Law School where he graduated with honors. Mike began his law practice in Memphis as an Assistant U.S. Attorney and later opened a private practice in Henderson, Tennessee.

In 1983 Mike married the former Dixie Lee Barker and subsequently moved to Denton, Texas where he practiced for nearly three decades. He was licensed in three states, Tennessee, Texas and Arkansas, and was recently associated with the Little Rock firm of Wallace, Martin, Duke & Russell.

Michael was an astute and learned lawyer, earning the respect of colleagues and clients alike during his professional years. He had a mantra of sound advice that he shared with clients, always informing them of their advantages or consequences with any case he handled. His vast recall of jurisprudence enabled Michael to become a much sought-after courtroom lawyer. He was often called upon for advice, being a consultant in many difficult cases.

He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Dixie, his son, Justin M. Lipscomb and a step-daughter, Deah Michelle Beard of Frisco, Texas.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Memorial Garden Fund, Presbyterian Kirk in the Pines.

A private Interment will be held later this month.
