Mr. John Morris Rowland, 47, died unexpectedly Friday morning (April 3, 2015) at his residence.
He was born in Gainesville, FL but had resided in Waycross most of his life. He was a former prep cook with Applesbee's of Waycross and currently employed with Corner Stop Store. He was also a member of Liberty Christian Church and served as a pastor in the Waycross area for several years.
Mr. Rowland was preceded in death by his daughter, Ashley Rowland.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Rowland of Waycross; two sons, Jonathon Rowland (fiancé Erica Waters) and Nicholas Rowland both of Waycross; his father, John A. Rowland of Waycross; his mother, Virginia Chancey Weeks of Blackshear; a brother, Tommy Rowland of Blackshear; two sisters, Alice Norman of Blackshear and Lisa Tilley (husband Rick) of Lakeland, FL; mother-in-law, Cassie Copeland of Waycross; step father-in-law, Jerry Sikes of Waycross; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday (April 12, 2015) at Hargraves Chapel Church in Millwood. Burial will follow in Hargraves Chapel Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends Saturday afternoon at their residence, 2021 El Jo Sa St., Waycross, GA 31501.
