Professional Hockey Player. For twelve seasons (1950 to 1962), he played at the defense position in the National Hockey League with the Montreal Canadiens and Chicago Black Hawks. He began his career with the Montreal Royals of the Quebec Senior Hockey League in 1949 and was promoted to the NHL during the 1950-1951 season. During the course of his career, St. Laurent was a hard-nosed defenseman who played through pain and injuries. He experienced five Stanley Cup titles (1953, 1956 to 1958 with Montreal and 1961 with Chicago) and totaled 652 regular season games. After retiring from hockey, he worked as an insurance salesman. In 2007, he underwent triple-bypass surgery and had been in declining health ever since.
