Ward, George J.--GEORGE J. WARD DEAD--Expires At Home of His Sister East of Rockford--Funeral Friday--Funeral services for George J. Ward, who died at the home of his sister, Mrs. Sarah McFarland, near Mulford’s crossing, Tuesday afternoon at 5:15 o’clock will be held at the McFarland residence Friday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock. The Rev. Hugh M. Bannen will officiate and burial will be made in the Carman cemetery in Guilford. Mr. Ward had been ill for the last four month with a malignant malady. He was a son of the late Norman S. and Elizabeth Ward and was born on a farm, just east of Cherry Valley, September 27, 1855, spending most of his life in Rockford and its vicinity. He was a carpenter. Three sisters, Mrs. McFarland, at whose home he spent the last few months of his life, Mrs. Flora Gable of Cherry Valley, and Mrs. W.E. Brown, of Leon, Kan., are his sisters and there are two brothers, Eli F. Ward, a policeman, residing at 924 Rockton avenue, and A.H. Ward, 517 East State street. Mr. Ward was a bachelor.
