She was born to John Sevy and Ina (Alvey) Thompson on March 21 1940 in Panguitch Utah. She had a simple childhood growing up in Panguitch. Her father was a sheep hearder and her mother took care of the kids doing odds and ends when she could to help keep food on the table. They had a milk cow named Cherry and her mother always had a garden. Even though they were very poor Irean thought they were normal. She loved her childhood playing with her little brother Mack Alvey. She loved her mother and father and passed down wonderful stories of them. At the age of 13 Irean decided she wanted to work with her mother as a waitress - so she lied about her age and started working at a little cafe near Bryce Canyon. Irean never married but had lots of nieces and nephews who loved her. She worked for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Salt Lake City Utah and after her retirement she loved to spend time with her nieces and nephews, her best friend Pat and her beloved dogs. She loved Christmas and always spent it with our family until the last Christmas she spent in the hospital. She loved giving hand made gifts and was very talented. She was spunky and stubborn and so funny. She remembered great stories about her family and I always enjoyed talking with her and asking her questions about our family - I will miss her dearly.
