Edward Dwayne Pennington also known as Red Fox, 77, of Albemarle passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 4, 2015 at The Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis.

His funeral service will be 2 PM Tuesday, April 7, 2015 in the Stanly Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tab Whitley, Rev. Frank Thompson, and Rev. Jeremy Holt officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Stanly Funeral Home on Monday evening from 6 until 8 PM.

Dwayne was born on October 26, 1937 in Rowan County, NC. He was the son of the late Odom Lee Pennington and Mellie Katherine Gudger Pennington.

He was a retired long haul driver for over 37 years with Collins and Aikman of Albemarle. He was a member of Lakeview Baptist Church where he also served on the deacon board.

Mr. Pennington is survived by his wife Myrna Campbell Pennington of the home. Other survivors include daughter Kathy Pennington Osteen and husband Robert, son Edward Lee Pennington and wife Beverly all of Albemarle, two sisters Betty P. Mason of Albemarle and Martha P. Shuford and husband Bob of Norwood, and 5 grandchildren: Julie Osteen, Ross Pennington, Allie Pennington Tester and husband Jake, Trey Pennington and Ryne Osteen.

The family would like to express their appreciation to the following who helped with Mr. Pennington’s care: Dr. Leonard Saltzman, Frensenius Dialysis Center, Trinity Place, and The Tucker Hospice House. Also, thanks to all his friends at The Parkway House who cheered him each day.
