He was born in Fort Ann on Feb. 8,1925, to William W. and Gertrude E.(Hayes)Hunt and attended School in Fort Ann.
He served in the United States Navy during World War II.
He was a well-known carpenter in the Fort Ann area and he built both his own home as well as his eldest son, Robert's, home. He also built a three-story windmill on his property in memory of his fifth grade teacher, Mrs. Ruth Granger, whom he admired greatly.
He enjoyed drawing, woodworking and was a big New York Yankee fan.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Marjorie Shaw Hunt; three sons, Robert and his wife, Kathleen, Everett and his wife, Sally, and Brian and his wife, Florence; his grandsons, Robert Hunt and his wife, Raina, Geoffrey, Gregory and Jeremy Hunt and his granddaughter Alicia Hunt. He is also survived by his brother, Everett Hunt and his wife, Dorothy.
He is predeceased by his brothers; William A., Daniel W., Charles E., Pearley D., Roy J. and Clifford E. Hunt and by his sisters; Edith M. West, Mable G. Sheldrick, Betty E. Courtney and Myrtle S. Scott. He is also predeceased by his grandson Stephen Hunt.
