WINDHAM - Hazel Townsend passed away peacefully at her home on April 1, 2015. She was born on Feb. 3, 1922, the daughter of Florence and Morris Polk. She moved from Lisbon Falls to Eastport, where she lived most of her life. Hazel moved to Portland in 1965, where she pursued a career as an inspection supervisor at Fairchild. After serving 23 years, she retired in 1988. Hazel is survived by her three daughters and their husbands, Mary and Shirl Bishop, Helen and Pete Galipeau and Jean and Mike Cushing. She is also survived by her seven grandchildren Jeff Bishop, Debra Reed-Bishop, Brian Bishop, Chris Collins, Mike Collins, Michael Cushing and Steven Cushing as well as their wives. She has 12 wonderful great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Hazel is also survived by her stepson William Faulkner. Hazel Townsend was the matriarch and strength of her entire family. She will be greatly missed by everyone. We Love You Mom and Nanna, Rest in Peace.A graveside service will be held in the spring at Mayberry Cemetery, Windham. Condolences to the family may be expressed
