Gil married the "Love of His Life", Beverly I. (Olmstead) Huntington on December 31, 1982; she sadly preceded him in death on October 10, 2007. He is survived by his daughters, Barbara Reynolds of Bellevue, Peggy Easey of Bellevue, Theresa Bartlett of Colorado, and Tina Crocker of Bellevue; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces & nephews. Gil was also preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers; 3 sisters, and 4 sons, Gilbert Hess III., Richard Hess, Donnie Hess, and Steve Huntington.
Gil was a life-member of the D.A.V. and the Bellevue Lodge #83 F&AM. He was also a Golden Age Eagle in the Eagle Lodge #299.
The family will receive friends 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at the First Baptist Church of Bellevue, 122. S. Main St., Bellevue where funeral services to celebrate Gil's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Bellevue. In lieu of flowers, please consider making donations to the Bellevue Good Samaritans or the charity of one's choice .
