GEORGE E SKINGLEY, 78 SUCCUMBS SUDDENLY
"George E. Skingley, 78, passed away suddenly at his home near Stephan Bridge on Saturday, Nov. 27. He had been a resident of Crawford County for 76 years and had worked as a carpenter and caretaker.
Mr. Skingley was born in Owosso December 16, 1892. He was a member of the Crawford County Grange.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at Sorenson Funeral Home at two o'clock with Rev. Paul Frederick officiating. Burial was in Elmwood Cemetery. A Grange Prayer Service was held at 8:30 Monday evening at the funeral home led by Chaplain Norval Stephan.
Survivors include his wife Flora; two daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Gardiner of Grayling and Mrs. Marian Rokos of Traverse City; one brother, Harold Skingley of Saginaw; 12 grandchildren. One son, Robert, preceded him in death. Four brothers and one sister also preceded him in death."
