Karen Darlene Hobert Bass, 56, of Madison Heights, passed away Wednesday, April 1, 2015, at her residence. She was the loving and devoted wife of Michael "Mike" Stanley Bass. Born October 19, 1958, in Elwood City, Pa., she was the daughter of Richard Thomas Chester Hobert of Chesapeake, Va. and the late Edith Bush Hobert. She was a self-employed Tutor and was a member of River Church in Madison Heights. In addition to her husband, Karen is survived by her daughter, Michele B. Mawyer and husband, Robert of Madison Heights; two sisters, Brenda Lambert and husband, Cliff of Chesapeake and Linda Benson and husband, Steve of Shreve, Ohio; two grandchildren, Cody Lang and Haley Mawyer; a devoted friend, Mary Boso Crowder and numerous nieces and nephews.A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 7, 2015, at River Church, 115 Seminole Drive, Madison Heights with Pastor Brad Mullinax officiating. Interment will follow at Virginia Memorial Park in Forest.
