Joseph Daniel Adcock, 91, passed away Monday September 5, 2011 at his residence.

Mr. Adcock was born in Chesterfield County, SC, August 28, 1920 the son of the late Henry M and Fannie Mae Braddock. He was retired from the U.S. Postal Service and served his country during World War 11 in the US Army.

Mr. Adcock is survived by his two brothers Ray Adcock and wife Oleen of Kershaw and Harold Adcock and wife Marietta of Pageland; five sisters; Ruth Kirkley of McBee, SC, Bernice McPherson of Bethune, SC, Lula Kirkley of Kannapolis, Edith Kirkley of Jefferson, SC, Bobbie Jean Mintz and husband Joe of Lexington, SC. Numerous nieces and nephews and god child Patty Ketter of Monroe.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Benton Heights Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Lakeland Memorial Park. A visitation will be held Wednesday, September 7, 2011 from 9:00 AM until 10:45 AM at Benton Heights Baptist Church. Memorials may be made to Benton Heights Baptist Church, 1411 Helms St. Monroe, NC 28110
