Guided by the teachings of St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, for corporal works of mercy and a desire to honor unclaimed neighbors, an ecumenical service was held July 9, 2014 at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Cemetery (Brownstown Township, MI) to bury 164 deceased who were unclaimed for years at the Wayne County Medical Examiner’s Office.

The following agencies participated:

- Great Lakes National Cemetery
- Inch Memorials (Northville)
- Ira Kaufman Chapel (Southfield)
- The Jewish Fund (Bloomfield Hills)
