Blanche E. Jackson, 94, of Summit Point, WV died Friday, April 3, 2015 at the Hospice of the Panhandle Inpatient Facility, Kearneysville, WV.

She was born Feb. 3, 1921 in Shenandoah Junction, WV. She was the daughter of Dr. J.W. Harden and Augusta Mae (Harris) Harden.

Mrs. Jackson owned and operated along with her husband Jacksons Grocery Store, Summit Point, WV.

She was a member of Summit Point Baptist Church and a former member of Leetown Baptist Church.

She was a dedicated volunteer with the Jefferson County Community Ministries.

She is survived by three sons, Nelson W. Jackson and wife Joyce, Middleway, WV, David A. Jackson and wife Joyce, Berryville, Va., Daniel Jackson and wife Sally, Martinsburg, WV; six daughters, Bonnie J. Knott and husband Walter, Summit Point, WV, Doris E. Santmier, Clear Brook, Va., Kay Willmann and husband Chuck, Seguin, Texas, Lisa M. Ryan and husband Joe, Harpers Ferry, WV, Elaine Blackford and husband Ed, Christiansburg, Va. and Dawn Sowers and husband Jeff, Fredericksburg, Va.; 17 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Nelson Herbert Jackson who died May 3, 1984; four sisters, Gertrude Cole, Corrine Stevens, Josephine Henry and Minnie Robinson; three brothers, George Harden, Charles Harden and John Harden. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 10, 2015 at Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home, Charles Town, WV with Pastor James Holt officiating.

Interment at Pleasant View Memory Gardens, Martinsburg, WV.

Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 9, 2015 at the funeral home.
